“Lake People Prices” For Contractors? Does It Really Exist?

Ever wonder if the price for a roofing, landscaping or plumbing job goes up as soon as the contractor asks for your Lake Gaston address?

Some think so. And some know so.

Frankly, it’s something we see every day.

Recently, we sought bids from various trades for a 2,900 square foot, new-construction home at Lake Gaston, just south of the Eaton Ferry Bridge.

We sought bids from more than 20 contractors from each of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.

Here are the price ranges we received:

Electrical: $18,000 to $57,000

Plumbing: $10,000 to $26,000

HVAC: $21,000 to $38,000

If necessary, we suggest cost-saving changes that can significantly reduce the overall cost for the project.

When needed, we obtain as many bids as it takes to give homeowners the confidence they are making the right decision.

And best of all, we do not charge for homeowners for this service.

Why do we do this? Contractors gladly pay us a small fee because it saves them time and money on marketing and advertising.

Frankly, marketing and advertising is not something most contractors like to do, or something they are particularly good at.

Contractors like to build things and fix things. If they have a steady line of work building things and fixing things, everything is right with the world.

We offer a 15-minute initial consultation to determine if we are good fit for your project, and if you would like to continue the conversation, we would be happy to set up an in-person meeting to discuss your plans.
